In this hands-on workshop Master Photographers and Educators Chris Wooley and Phil White will guide you on creating vintage inspired images.
You’ll learn Lighting, Posing, Styling, and Editing for crafting iconic vintage looks. From new photographers to seasoned pros, this workshop is filled with educational, creative, and hands-on instruction.
You’ll have the opportunity to photograph a variety of models and lighting set-ups in this fun genre to add to your porftolio.

A guided presentation of the pin-up process. Learn what it takes to do a pin-up photoshoot, including etiquette, finding models, building concepts, hair/make-up, and more.

Get the perfect light to make your models pop! Learn posing essentials for creating a retro look in any enviornment. You’ll see how highlights, shadows, posing and props all come together to create iconic images.
Portfolio Building
Get hands-on, guided help as you work with the stylized models to create your own retro pin-up images. Before each set-up Chris & Phil will break down the lighting, location, posing, and props. You’ll then have the opportunity to photograph the models in a retro style.

The workshop is held at 8th Street Studio in Boise, ID.
This small group workshop is flexible for photographers of all skill levels – from beginner to pro. A basic understanding of how your camera operates is required and not covered in the course. The two instructors will provide demos, explainations, and guided instruction.

Transportation and accomidations are the responsiblity of the attendee and are not included in the price of the workshop. If you are traveling from out of town, please let us know!
Your Camera and Lenses! Nearly any DSLR or Mirrorless camera will work. A medium zoom is recommended (24-70) for most studio shooting. A prime lens (50 f/1.8) or similar is suggested for Old Hollywood location lighting.
Batteries and memory cards! You’ll be creating lots of images.
No Lighting/Flashes/Modifiers are required. We will provide everythign you need.
A laptop is not required, but there will be editing demos where you can follow along if desired.
Snacks and Beverages are provided. We usually break for lunch & dinner as a group (optional / no-host).
Full refunded if requested 30 days or more prior to the event.
50% refund if requested up to 10 days prior to the event.
No refunds if less than 10 days prior to the event.
If the workshop is cancelled for any reason you will receive a full refund for amount paid for tuition.
A minimum of 5 students is required for the workshop.
